Well, I’ve got one of two copies back from the editors, and will be hitting the editing big time this week. I have had some amazing responses to the draft version, and a lot of interest. Here’s hoping all that positive feedback and interest translates into sales!
I’ve worked really hard on this, and am very proud of it, and can’t wait for people to see it. I’ve mapped out 2″ tiles and lines for notes throughout the book so that every single person who buys the book will have space to put their own versions of the tangles in their own book. There is a page for that after each tangle is presented.
I will also be having a promotion, that the first 80 people to buy the book will get a signed original of one of the tiles that I drew for the book sent to them, free of charge. There were 80 in total, so that means 80 lucky buyers will receive a gift from me in the mail. All you have to do is forward me a copy of your receipt with your name and mailing address and I’ll take care of the rest. I’ll announce when they are gone.
Thank you all for your help, positive feedback, and responses to my book. As you can tell I’m very excited!
A mouthful isn’t it!?
That’s the name of the book I’ve written: Alphatanglebet: An Alphabetical Guide to Playing With Tangles, Volume 1: Ahh to Eye-Wa.
You may have noticed that I’ve been fairly quiet on here since posting about the book I was going to create. That’s because I’ve been busy working on it daily, and now can finally say, after nearly two months, that I have the first draft ready to be edited.
At first I was going to publish it as one book, but the more I wrote and the more tangleations I created, the clearer it became that this was going to be way too big to be just one book. So I’ve broken it down into four different volumes, and will be releasing Volume 2 hopefully in early 2016.
This book has turned out amazing. It’s got all the step outs for all of the original tangles that Zentangle, Inc. has released, as well as my tangleations of those tangles. It also has information about those tangles, how they were named or where the inspiration came from, tips on how to draw them, information about Zentangle, and inspirational quotes I’ve come across.
I’m hoping to have it edited and ready for publishing by mid-November, just in time for the Christmas season. I will be self publishing, making it available for download in my Etsy shop, and publishing hard copies through Create Space, a website for people like me who are self publishing a book.
More details to come!
