Counting Down Until I Leave!

By this time tomorrow, I will be up in the air, and on my way to the Certified Zentangle Teacher Training Seminar No. 19, and I cannot wait.  I have read so many wonderful things about the training, mostly that it’s life changing, and I cannot wait to see where it takes me.  Zentangle has been a positive force in my life, and I want to share that with the world!

Thanks to all who have both enquired and listened to my ramble on about Zentangle, the benefits of it, and just how much I’m seeing my life change, in a good way, because of it!  I appreciate everyone’s interest!  I’m overwhelmed by the positive responses so far.  I can’t wait to write more, and get going on this exciting new venture!

Exciting Announcement!

Since finding Zentangle, I have wanted to take it further, and try and make a go at it as a career of sorts.  I knew it was a good fit, the perfect fit, from the time I heard about it, to my first Zentangle Inspired Art, to my first tile.  As soon as I started it, began learning about it, and more about it, I knew I had to figure out some way I could make money with it.  It wasn’t long after I started to Zentangle, before I found out that I could take the training to become a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT), and right away I started researching on how to do that.  I’ve always wanted art to be a part of any living I’d make, but have never thought it would be possible, until now.  Finding Zentangle has been one of the best things to happen to me, and has changed my life in many ways.

Once I found out I could become a CZT, I started looking into it and researching everything I could about it.  While researching, I came across a contact at Zentangle Inc., and asked her when the next round of CZT training courses were being held, as the ones listed on their site were all full.  She replied that the next set of dates were not going to be until 2016, but that two spots opened up for the next training course, beginning April 19, and would I like to attend that one.  Wow, I was speechless!  Attend so soon?! Would I ever!  After speaking with my husband, I replied back saying that yes, I would be there, and could they please send me information on that course so that I could pay for it, and complete my registration.  Since discovering Zentangle for myself, and then finding out I could become a CZT, my husband has backed me up and encouraged me to take the training, and make this a part of my life, a part of our lives.

I’ve not been able to stop thinking about it since.  I am so excited about this wonderful opportunity that has fallen into my lap.  I didn’t expect to be taking the course so soon, but didn’t want to miss this great opportunity.

My registration is complete, and I’ve booked the two additional days in the hotel the training is being held at.  I arrive the night before the training starts, and leave the morning after the training ends.  The travel from Vancouver, to Providence, Rhode Island (RI), where the training is being held, is literally an all day affair.  I was originally going to take the red eye, both there and back, which would have been extremely difficult, given the amount of chronic pain I am in, but was going to do it to save on additional hotel costs, as the cost of the training is quite expensive.  Well, my parents and husband didn’t like the fact that I was going to be doing that, as they know how hard travelling was going to be on myself anyways, never mind travelling all night, given my current health, so my parents offered to pay for the additional nights in the hotel.  This means I can go a day early, and leave the day after, making travelling that much easier on me.

I am so lucky to have the support of my family and best friend.  It means so much to me, and I’d not be able to do it without them.  They know I have it in me, and I know I have it in myself, to make this work and become a success in my new venture.

I have so many ideas, so many goals, with respect to marketing myself as a CZT, and cannot wait to get started on all the possibilities life has in store for me!  More on that in a future post!

So there you have it!  I’m following my dream: making art my living, and I can’t wait to see what future holds for myself and my family, now that I am making it a reality.  I’m hoping it will open all sorts of doors, not only for myself, but for my future students, and I can’t wait to see that happen.
