Vancouver Tangled

I am happy to announce that our colouring book, Vancouver Tangled, is printed and ready for sale.  We will be at Carson Graham this Saturday and Sunday for the North Vancouver Holiday Bazaar.

If you can’t make it out, please don’t hesitate to contact us at tranquility tangles@gmail.com for your copy.  Books are $15 plus shipping, with discounts given to those buying 10 or more copies.

Don’t forget to find us on Facebook, under Tranquility Tangles.  We have both a page and group (for posting your finished pages) and would love to see you on there.

Here are a few photos of our colouring book!

Well, I’ve got one of two copies back from the editors, and will be hitting the editing big time this week.  I have had some amazing responses to the draft version, and a lot of interest.  Here’s hoping all that positive feedback and interest translates into sales!

I’ve worked really hard on this, and am very proud of it, and can’t wait for people to see it.  I’ve mapped out 2″ tiles and lines for notes throughout the book so that every single person who buys the book will have space to put their own versions of the tangles in their own book.  There is a page for that after each tangle is presented.

I will also be having a promotion, that the first 80 people to buy the book will get a signed original of one of the tiles that I drew for the book sent to them, free of charge.  There were 80 in total, so that means 80 lucky buyers will receive a gift from me in the mail.  All you have to do is forward me a copy of your receipt with your name and mailing address and I’ll take care of the rest.  I’ll announce when they are gone.

Thank you all for your help, positive feedback, and responses to my book.  As you can tell I’m very excited!

Vancouver Tangled – ready for the printers!

I’m happy to announce that Allison and I will be taking Vancouver Tangled to the printers early next week.  We are just negotiating the final details with the printers.

Also, after we get it printed, uploaded the PDF copy to Etsy, get on with Create Space, etc, we will be producing a templates to tangle version called Tangle Vancouver.  This copy will be for anyone who’d like to tangle their own version.

We hope to have that one available by early December.

So many great things happening!  Can’t wait to get it out to the public!

A mouthful isn’t it!?

That’s the name of the book I’ve written:  Alphatanglebet:  An Alphabetical Guide to Playing With Tangles, Volume 1: Ahh to Eye-Wa.

You may have noticed that I’ve been fairly quiet on here since posting about the book I was going to create.  That’s because I’ve been busy working on it daily, and now can finally say, after nearly two months, that I have the first draft ready to be edited.

At first I was going to publish it as one book, but the more I wrote and the more tangleations I created, the clearer it became that this was going to be way too big to be just one book.  So I’ve broken it down into four different volumes, and will be releasing Volume 2 hopefully in early 2016.

This book has turned out amazing.  It’s got all the step outs for all of the original tangles that Zentangle, Inc. has released, as well as my tangleations of those tangles.  It also has information about those tangles, how they were named or where the inspiration came from, tips on how to draw them, information about Zentangle, and inspirational quotes I’ve come across.

I’m hoping to have it edited and ready for publishing by mid-November, just in time for the Christmas season.  I will be self publishing, making it available for download in my Etsy shop, and publishing hard copies through Create Space, a website for people like me who are self publishing a book.

More details to come!

Update on Wedding Gift

THEY LOVED IT!

When they opened it, and read what I wrote on the back, their eyes misted up, and they came over and gave me a great big hug.  They both said they were secretly hoping that I would do something Zentangle related for them as a wedding gift, but never thought it would be as big and detailed as it was.

All in all I feel really good that they are happy with their gift.  It took over 60 hours of work, so I got a print made up so that I’d have a copy for my portfolio.

Book

Over the last couple of weeks I have been toying with the idea of creating a book about Zentangle.  I’ve already got the colouring book angle covered, with my venture with my best friend through Tranquility Tangles, and want to do something special for my fellow tanglers.

Then last night I came up with the perfect idea.  I will create a book that lists all of the tangles created by Zentangle, Inc., alphabetically, and create tangleations (variation of an existing tangle) based on those tangles.  It will be a comprehensive reference book, with room for readers to add their own tangleations.

I can’t wait to get started.
